what is my gas meter?

im doing a plumbing course and wanted to know what my gas meter is ie u6, e6 or g4, there is nothing that says on the meter thats its any of those, how do i find out what it is?

Stick with plumbing untill you get to gas they will explain it at level 3
 
Take a photo on your phone and show it to your tutor!
 
U6 is imperial and will have a dial on the front with a red arrow.

E6 is metric and is about 1/3 the size of a U6 with a digital display

GU is, I think, a combination of the two above i.e. it's a metric meter with a dial but I stand to be corrected on that one :)

Think of E6, U6 and U16 as just the size of the box
The 6 or 16 is their rated measuring ability in cubic metres/hour. Even if it's slightly different
You'll see "U6" size meters with R5, G4, and all sorts on them.
