Hi I am rewiring my kitchen to add extra lights and I am going to automate them using an x10 LW12 module which is activated by a momentary latch switch. I am going to fit the 5 gang (Momentary) switch box onto a un-plastered wall. What I want to know is what grade of wire should i use to go from the switch to the modules? and what way should i wire them?

Hi

You could either use two runs of 3 core + earth cable, or three runs of twin + earth.

One core of your first cable will be live, and this should be connected to all five switches.

Your remaining five cores are then the five momentary switch contacts.

The cable size will need to be the same as the rest of the cable on your lighting circuit - so probably 1.5mm.
