What is the name of this brickwork feature?

Can anyone tell me the name of the brickwork feature shown below?

The best I can come up with is a "corner pier", but searching for examples yields few results.

Yes you would call that a pier.

As above, pier or 'brickwork return'.

Yeah, quite a few bits/steps missing. I put a note in the video, just in case anyone takes this literally.

The foundations have already been laid and the pier was an afterthought. I wanted to work out how far the pier could project and what the return would look like against the cladding.
