i am replacing a stone window header on a victorian house. The header I am putting in is approx 150mm wide which means it protrudes into the cavity.
When I had the lintel specified by the structural engineer I hadnt obtained the stone header and thought I would be using a row of soldiers. As such he has specified a bulk standard catnic cavity wall lintel.
This wont fit now as the cavity isnt there any more, I've had a quick look at the catnic and ig catlogues and cant see anything suitable.
i thought I might fit the cavity lintel above the header and put in a single leaf lintel to hold up the block work on the inner leaf below but does anyone have any other ideas?
