Hi there,

I am going to be working alongside my main builder putting up stud walls. I have been looking at which mitre saw I should buy. What is the sort of cross-cut capability should I be looking for and what else should I keep in mind when choosing my saw. I'm looking at spending about 200 bucks.

Considering something like:

https://www.screwfix.com/p/bosch-gc...e-bevel-sliding-compound-mitre-saw-110v/8133j

Max. Cross Cut: 270 x 70mm

I am posting this question, as I don't want to buy a saw and then find out the blade is not big enough to do what I need.

That would be fine for your needs , 270 by 70 is a pretty big piece of timber!

If you wanted to cut a bigger piece you can always turn the timber the other way up

What's the max bevel cut that saw can do?

Cutting capacity, 45° mitre 70 x 190 mm
Cutting capacity, 45° bevel 48 x 270 mm

It's the
BOSCH GCM800SJ2 216MM ELECTRIC SINGLE-BEVEL SLIDING COMPOUND MITRE SAW 240V

stud walls need90% and 100mm
roofing needs up to 60% and perhaps 300mm [a slider]
all depends on future use and accuracy required ??
