Myson Apollo 15 30 gas boiler open system microbore pipes. Hot water was working but no central heating after being left off during summer. Only upstairs radiators hot, presumably gravity fed. All downstairs rads cold. Managed to get a degree of warmth from all rads by isolating all bar one at a time and working through the house. Decided to flush with cleaner by adding to header tank. Now boiler cuts out almost immediately when firing up. Shuts down with clanging noises and pilot light goes outl. Pilot light will stay on by itself. No hw and all rads now cold. System checked out by BG. Pump ok suggest air in system. Drained and refilled no difference. Now BG suggest 60/40 that its the heat exchanger, I'm not convinced and still believe its air in system. All rads have been bled. Any other suggestioins on getting rid of air. Back flushing any good. The lowest bleed point for draining system is just above boiler.
