My back door and frame are rotten so I want to replace them. The current door hole (from brick to brick) is 810mm wide. Does this mean that a standard door frame kit for a 762mm door will not fit? Wickes recons that their frame is 850mm. The door hole is made of thick stone so is not really alterable.

Should I:
a: plane/cut the door frame until it does fit
b: reduce the size of the frame and plane/cut the door to fit the frame.
c: some other idea that you have which is better.

Thanks in advance

By the sounds of, your looking at an imperial 28" door (711) i.e. the door posts would be around 1 3/4" giving you 3 1/2" + 28" = 31 1/2" + clearance = 3/8" approx = (810) the size of your door slap. Wickes do tend to supply only metric or at best metric equivalent, why not try phoning around and see whether you can get someone able to supply imperial...pinenot :)
