what sort of lintel

i am planning to remove a doorway and open up a load bearing wall. i need to span a gap of approx 2.6 meters. there will be 2 corused of block work above as well as the floor joists for the upstairs.

will i be able to use a pre cast concrete lintel, or will i have to use a 'girder' type steel one.

your best bet would be a catnic box lintol, but they can be dear as you would need a 3m one.
