hI ,I have been looking around at some of the central heating systems
around and its a bit of a mind field ,my system is about 15 years old now
and is the old gravity fed system.so i hope to get rid of all the tanks in the loft and emersion tank in the airing cuboard as well. and thinking of going the all in one unit ,but looking around the new build-houses there are so meany different ones they install ,ie= pressure systems, the megaflo tank
system and so on , which do you think is the BEST for my house?

i have 4 bed detached house.

cheers Rog.

p.s sorry forgot to say i hope to keep my power shower running?

Firstly if you have a power shower (pumped shower) then you cannot have pressurised hot water, either from a combi or an unvented cylinder.

If money is not much of a concern go for a system boiler and Megaflo cylinder, probably the 170 or 210 litre size.

A cheaper option would be to install a combi, but do not expect to run 2 hot outlets together.

For both of the above you will need around 20 l/min cold mains and at least 2 Bar mains pressure to let them work properly.

You will also have to get a new, standard thermostatic shower.

Also ignore the tripe posted on here about unvented being a bomb, the poster is unqualified, incompetent and only googles his answers rather than having any real knowledge or experience.
