Been searching for some info and stumbled across this place and you seem a knowledgeable bunch so perhaps I could borrow a little of your wisdom? Oh and a big hello
I will soon be replacing my garage roof and intend doing the same with the battered rear door with a nice UPVC job. But I have a problem, the wooden door frame seems to support the top layer of bricks so when the frame is removed I can visualize the bricks falling out of place!
The end brick is just butted up against the side of the property. And to complicate matters further the end brick is in between two layers of bricks (hopefully that makes sense).
The only solution I can think of would be a concrete lintel but this would involve removing some of the house bricks and with it being a cavity wall am unsure how I would support the wall.
I’ve attached some pics to assist.
Your input as always appreciated.
