What to use for patch repairs?

I've been taking some tiles off my kitchen wall. They were attached pretty firmly and in a few places they've taken the render off the wall when they've come loose, like this:

Can anyone recommend a product I can use to patch these holes once I've finished removing the tiles?

If you are going to replace the tiles then just fill in the areas that have pulled away with sand and cement render and rub flat.
wet the hole down first to help prevent the water being sucked out of the render too fast and causing it to shrink back to fast and crack or fail
