What to use to seal between worktop and tiles

Moved house recently and we need to do cheap makeover in the kitchen till we can afford to replace it around 2025 I think at this rate.
Any way we are painting the doors and tiles - any advice and I want to replace the horrible plastic quadrant stuff at the back of the worktops where it meets the tiles, can't seem to find anything, any thoughts and suggestions out there?

teddy - maybe a Formica upstand for kitchen worktops from B&Q? Fix to the tiles with Gripfill, seal below with silicon. By sealing the bottom edge of the upstand before fixing with Grip you won't see any silicon seal bead - a sight which often looks awful unless a pro does it.
