What type of strain relief do-dah for fixed equipment?

A knot in the cable will block DC, which is straight, so can't cope with the tight bends. AC will be OK if the frequency is high enough. :mrgreen:
So DC is straight, and AC is not?

I'm sure it used to be the other way round.

I had similar thoughts - not so much about which one was straight, but the fact that DC can happily get through a coiled-up conductor which AC (increasingly so with increasing frequency) would struggle to get through :)

you cant tie a knot in rhe cable. it stops the electrons from getting in :D

No, no .... that's only true with binary!

The knot stops the 1's getting around the corners (the pointy bits get stuck, you see)... but the 0's, being smooth, can get around OK......
