I’ve got an IDEAL STANDARD WC - sits on the concrete floor / not rear concealed.
It has two Phillips / cross head fixing screws about an inch up from base.
They screw into nylon inserts, through the ceramic.
They screw in horizontally - not downward into the floor.
Does this suggest that there is a concrete mound under the base.
And that the nylon inserts were pushed into the (wet) cement in a rawlplug style.
Otherwise, I can’t figure out what they would fix / screw into.

I’m debating taking the pan out for LVT flooring Vs cutting the flooring to the pan in situ.

Thanks D

A lot of modern toilets use the fixings below to lock the pan down to the floor. The L shaped brackets are fixed to the floor and then the screws, with the nylon collets are screwed in horizontally. It allows the side of the pan to be vertical without the indents to take vertical screws - they aren't the best method for fixing pans TBH

Remember that all pipe connections on the pan and cistern will be raised by the thickness of the new flooring.

Thanks both replies.
The L shaped brackets are fixed to the floor……….
That might well be what I’ve got - not come across that before.
If I pull it out, I’ll probably silicone it back down to the LVT without the screws.

And yes - I’ve been thinking about the height increase.
The pipe alterations don’t worry me, plus the pan connects to a vertical socket so should accommodate an increase.
The challenge will be the two cistern screws - there isn’t enough slack in the ceramic hole to go up by 10mm.

Do you think a Diamond Round File allow me to slot the holes ?

You are dicing a little there - are you talking about the holes in the back of the cistern to secure it to the wall? If so, no way to create new holes? If not a little silicone may be your friend there too, not ideal and would never usually suggest it, but.....

Yes.

I suspect that the new raised hole centres would be too close to original holes to re-drill. I might be able to drill large holes where they are now and re-position the raw lugs off centre in a resin the likes of R-KEM.

…,,,,,,a little silicone may be your friend
That’s a good idea - it doesn’t really take any weight as it sits directly coupled to the pan. And the flush button in centre of lid / above pan connection so doesn’t rock side to side when flushed. Maybe even an adhesive type PU foam (gun application) as this would allow a greater surface area of contact.

Thanks D
