Hi I am new to this site and I realise its not a diy question. But I have just bought a multi purpose gym. And my partner and I are worried it falling through the ceiling. On the box we bought it in it says its 71.2kg. Ill see if I can find all the other information any advice will be much appreciated

I did ask a few ppl at work some said it is fine but just asked the delivery guys and they said I had to be careful (not sure if they were pulling my leg?)

Maximum training capacity of 59kg. Maximum user weight 100kg (15st 10lbs) size h192cm, w80cm, d141cm. :?:

it's the weight of an average person. Do you have problems with the floor creaking or bouncing if you have 3 or 4 people in the room you're putting it in?

I'd suggest not, and there is nothing to worry about

The extreme disaster due to overloaded floor was a water bed that took out 3 floors and ended in the basement of an old building converted into flats.

The static weight of the gym and two people is unlikely to cause a collapse.

If something heavy is moving up and down on the gym ( weight lifting ) then there will be dynamic loading to add to the static weight.

A glass table will support a heavy weight placed on it ( static ) but will shatter if the same weight is dropped on it ( dynamic )

It just has a desk in it and a sofa bed noone sleeps in there. And its one of them ones once the weight is on its on you just put a pin to adjust the weight lift. There is one floor board that creaks when you stand on it. I have moved all the pieces upstairs and put it at the side of the room for now its not fallen through......yet lol.

I dont know sorry. Its a room that can fit a double bed and a desk in and have 3/4 people stood in it id say the room is about 7ft wide and 9-10ft long? I think lol. Sorry I can't tell you more. I have put a pic in my profile if you want I can take a pic of the room

I suspect that most multigyms are in an upstairs room, either in a house or in a flat.

I think you're worrying too much - it will be fine.

Lol thank you. Don't think it helped I mentioned it to the delivery guys and they were like oh I dont know I knew someone on a treadmill and it went through. If 100kg is 15st10lbs 71.1kg is a lot less so like it was said its like its an averaged sizr person

Exactly; double bed, two (err.....) largeish protagonists, some late-night energetics, and who heard of the double bed falling into the room below?

Your multigym will be fine :)
