Hi All,

I have some cupboard doors (airing cupboard, under stairs etc) that I want to replace. It does not look easy to find such doors and as the current ones are in rubbish condition I am going to make some new ones up.

I only want plane doors, not fancy trim etc, just a plain white door to replace the existing ones. The current doors are about 38-40mm in width and I am not sure what is the right materials to make them.

I was planning on using MDF and plained softwood joined together (including some internal cross beams) with the MDF as the facing. Can anyone recommend what width MDF would be best and what thickness of softwood you would use? I was thinking 6mm mdf, but maybe that is a little thin?

Thanks,

Jon
