What's happened to spiders ?

I seem to have noticed more mole hills around here ?

they even have some on the local cricket field , never seen that before ? they are slowly encroaching towards the wicket

Laminate flooring stops a lot of house bugs getting through boards.
There's a massive insect population crash, which must affect the spiders though I haven't heard it. Bird populations are altering a lot too.

If you remember having to clean bugs off dad's windscreen when you were a kid??? Cars are more aerodynamic but it never happens now.
