What's the best way to remove soot from the Thorn OLYMPIC 38

You seem like a really thoughtful bunch of guys... not !

Now you know why I wont call an 'engineer'

note: I use the term engineer laughingly, that's why it's in quotes !

Another appreciative poster. :(

Award yourselves one thank you each

abusing those who's advice you are seeking is never a good idea imo. A good dose of CO will do you good I think. To$$er!

What's the best way to remove soot from the Thorn OLYMPIC 38/50B wall mounted Gas Boiler ?

Isn't wiping the case with a cloth a major part of a BG service.

A powerflush would get it off

Thats a bit harsh BG would service this boiler for £59 or whatever the offer is at the moment

Of course they would then condemn it and it would be 3.5K for a new one

Plus £800 for a powerflush of course

While I do not work for BG, I have to say not every one of them has 10 thumbs. Equally, not every independent heating engineer is what it says in the dictionary and engineer is.
