Guys,

Digging foundation, recommended by BCO to go 1M deep, 600mm wide and the footings work out to 11m in length, in all 7 cubic metres of area to fill.
Question is what is the most cost effective method I can use?

1: Do a complete fill of the footings, working out to approx £550
2: Do a partial fill (approx 350mm as per BCO) and carry on up to dpc with the relevant blocks.
Thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

Concrete mass fill every time.

If ground conditions allow, i.e. the ground around the building does not drop or deviate sharply, then the optimum peg height (in my opinion) is seven brick courses or 525mm down from dpc.

This usually equates to two courses of blocks and a course of bricks on the inner skin and one course of blocks and show four courses of engineers on the outer skin.

The reason for a finishing course of bricks on the inner skin becomes evident later on in the build when screeding into external doorways, but that's another story. ;)
