Hi everybody ;) I am replacing hub bearings on the front of a ford fiesta. When I knocked the part that holds the wheel on to seperate the hub the bearing broke apart leaving half of the bearing case stuck on the shaft. Will it come off easier if I heat the bearing ring?? cheers

Hi Markie, it`s a precision fit therefore there is no room for it to be knocked off. It has to be pulled off evenly. I just wondered if it could be heated up and clamped in a vice and removed that way....

Sounds like you'll have to have it pressed off. Why not nip down to your local scrappy and get a whole strut for a tenner?

I had the same problem What I did was use a dremel to cut a groove on opposite sides of the remains of the bearing and broke it off with a cold chisel. This worked but be careful when cutting the groove. Hope this helps let us know how you get on
