Dear all, I have a Fiat Scudo 1.9, I had a problem with it on saturday, the bearing that the drive shaft fits into, and sits on the back of the break disc, just broke onto about 20 pieces!!

What I want to know is, is this the wheel bearing, or is it another type? As I need to order the part.

Thanks

V

Dear Allenvb,
it sounds like you're describing the wheel bearing. Could you be a wee bit more specific with your description?
Yours sincerely,
Stivino

When it broke, ball bearings came out (they were about the size of marbles)

The outer constant velocity joint (CV) has called it a day. You need a new or exchange driveshaft.
John :)

That's why I asked for more info. Because the bearing behind the disc, is the wheel bearing. If it is the CV joint, you can get it on it's own, it'll be about £75ish
