Also some personalities are predisposed to seek out controllers. Unfortunately the controller treats them like a princess until they have slowly removed them from their friends and family.

She probably wasn't strong enough to break out of it....these people often have .... no support network that would help her to do so.

Sadly, even the 'safe' homes are not safe. I doubt if any refuges could have accommodated a mother and her three children.
