when hot water turned on nothing happens, no fire up as ch

Have a potterton boiler and drayton dual programmer, since we replumbed we have no hot water(water comes out), the cw fires up and works ok if turned on but if the hw is turned on the bolier cuts out and does not fire up. Googling brought up a faulty actuator, just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts

it does sound like a faulty actuator (motorized valve) it usually only works in the last place that it was working before the motor went, it all according what type it is, as there are several on the market, most you can just change the heads and rewire into a wiring centre if you have one, just make sure you turn OFF the main switch and remove the 5amp fuse as there are permanent lives about even when the clock says off
