After the heavy rain here in Ohio a couple of days ago this pool of water appeared in my garage. The odd part is it was under 2 pieces of carpet that were feet apart in the garage. Did they soak up water from the concrete or what. This is very odd and do I have a serious problem. I have a basement that has had some water but where did this come from???

How much water? Could it be condensation?
Does the water only appear under the carpet?
How close is the garage to the cellar (basement)?
Are the floors of the cellar and the garage on the same level?
Has water appeared anywhere else?
Are there any waste or sewage pipes under the garage floor?
