Looking for a reliable supplier in the Midlands, or mail order. http://www.rk-access.com is cheap, but when you check their address on Streetview it's just a house. A mistake?

Also, anyone have any experience with the so called 'Boss-compatible' towers?

thanks,
S.

I have a Loyal scaffold from http://www.laddersandscaffoldtowers.co.uk
The price was good and they say it's compatible with BOSS although I haven't tried it yet.
They sent it with a dented bar and replaced it quickly with no fuss (although as I was out they still haven't picked up the old one).
The only annoying thing is that they print logos all over the kick board so I'm currently stripping it to paint my own logos on.
If you can get over to Biggin Hill they have a shop but I think they deliver nationwide.

So is Streetview the new way of seeing if a company is good?
I think we have gone through this before and the answer was no.

Nope, so I decided to ask here.

I already looked for reviews, references on the net and so on. I found one single review on Yell, but it was short on details. Only an idiot would spend upwards of a grand on a tower without knowing who they're buying it from.

Thanks Chrt,

With Boss there is a big variation on pricing. E.g.: Boss Evolution range 2.2m platform height, 1450 x 1800 platform size: A local supplier (got a quote this morning) was charging £1745 + VAT but RK-Access was charging £660 + VAT. That's for the same tower as far as I can make out!!!

The Loyal towers look nice, but I don't see how they can be Boss compatible:

Boss Evolution has an '850' and '1450' width, with 1.8, 2.5, 3.2 lengths.
see: http://www.rk-access.com/product_search_components.asp?folder=boss-evolution

Loyal has choices of 1.05 x 2, 1.05 x 2.7, 1.65 x 2, 1.65 x 2.7
See: http://www.laddersandscaffoldtowers.co.uk/acatalog/Loyal_Trade_Industrial_Scaffold_Towers.html

So maybe these can fit together, but maybe not

cheers,
S.

Theres a scaffold company near me that can order in the Euro Towers.
I brought the narrow access tower, you walk up through it via trap doors in the boards.
Your not that far away, about 35/40 miles.

We got our BOSS scaffolding second hand via eBay - £2500+ worth for £900. Good stuff. Worth looking on there first.

The guy that runs RK Access is a former employee of the Youngman Group therefore he has close ties with them. The company is 100% legit and is able to offer Boss Scaffolding at very cheap prices due to their extremely low overhead. Ray the owner is extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the youngman range and is probably more trustworthy than a lot of bigger distributors..
