I am tiling the floor in my ensuite which will be slightly higher than the carpet in the bedroom. The door opens outwards in to the bedroom. Where should the tiles finish? Should they finish in line with the inside edge of the door (the ensuite side), the outside edge (the bedroom side) or underneath the middle of the door?

under the middle so the door bar sits under the door.
and make sure you get the right floor bar use a carpet to tile trim to finish helps if you put it on before you reach the door this will make sure you get best finish
