Does anyone know where I could buy a clear Perspex sheet, preferably online? I’d need it tailored to a size approximately 40” x 50” or 1015mm x 1270mm and about 2mm or 3mm thick? Or even two sheets exactly half that size.

    Any help would be great.

    Cheer.

    Hi Jo Go
Try this site www.diyplas.co.uk or yellow pages for plastics suppliers or sign-makers.

Do you need Perspex, which is acrylic sheet (Still made by ICI I believe), or polycarbonate which is a different material.

    Basically horses for courses.
For inside, with no impact risk then perspex looks good, but is tricky to cut without breaking. And it does scratch - though perspex polish is available.

Where there is a risk of impact, or for outdoors, polycarbonate is best.

With either make sure you use the recommended fixings, or a least large soft washers under any screws to spread the load.

to cut use a saw with very fine teeth and a light pressure.

    Good Luck
