Hi, sorry if you read a similar topic by me but I can't seem to find a conclusive answer. I am renovating and old terrace house and and taken most of the old plaster off and back to brick, then dotting and dabbing and skimming. My big question is - should I be using fire resistant boards or normal ones? Is there any regulations concerning where and when to use them in a renovation?
To be honest it's quite frustrating as I cn't seem to find a definative answer. I heard they are not required if the house is for "normal use" but then other people have told me they should be used between dividing walls ceilings etc. Also are they available in 9mm thickness? Thanks...

Also, if i have to use the 12.5mm fireboard can it be dot and dabbed? thanks...

12.5 is the smallest.

I don't see how you need firelined to dot and dab, because you are dabbing on to a block/brick wall. Firelined are used to clad steels, onto stud walls, or ceilings that are between dwellings.
