which adhesive for marmoleum

Is there a reason why forbo nairn insist on using their own adhesive to stick down marmoleum other than just wanting to sell you their product. Can you actually use any flooring adhesive? I read that you shouldn't use any solvent based adhesives with marmoleum. thanks
