Afternoon,

Before plaguing you with any questions about wiring a garage I'd like to read up on the subject. Has anyone got any idea where I can get a copy of the above book? Everyone seems to be out of stock at the moment. I've had it on order from Amazon for 5 weeks so far and have given up hope!

Thanks

Jon

Just spoken to a friend of mine from the book shop and done a search, The book of Wiring & Lighting by Mike Lawrence come up only available from 1 to 5 wks because it being reprinted, maybe an typing error ???

Have you tried the library for the time being ?

Thanks for that. Reprinting would make sense.

I'll give the library a try at the weekend.

I wanted a copy too and started checking availabilty out. I'd still like a copy but less desperately as I managed to get all the info I needed from other sources. Just reading through old messages on this forum is good, even if the title appears irrelevant as topic matter can evolve.

You could give the Which web site a try. If anyone is likely to have a copy it could well be them. It is shown on there but for some reason I backed out of trying to order it and don't remember why now - postage cost?

Amazon also has affiliates selling 2nd-hand copies. There is also a 'wanted feature' so people can approach you directly.

You might even try a £1 book shop etc. Just as likely to find a pile sat in there!

The Collins book isn't bad, it's certainly simple to follow. But at £8 you might as well buy the big Collins general DIY book which the electric book is lifted directly from.

While you wait, you could be getting on with these:

The Electricians Guide shown above is a good explanation of the regs, but if you fancy one with a bit more of the electrical engineering theory behind it all, I can recommend this:
