Hi there, am looking to add a smart thermostat onto our Combi boiler but dont know if I need single or dual channel device.

Our boiler is a Worcester 28i Junior and about 15 years old (so may need replacing in 18 months or so). The hot water is on demand and the heating is via a twice daily timer.

I see a number of ex-British Gas Hive devices have come onto the used marketplace - wonder why that is?

Any help is appreciated.

The single channel version of the Hive is for combi boilers that don't have stored hot water supplies (ie a hot water cylinder) requiring timed control of its heating

The dual channel version is for boilers that do have stored hot water supplies requiring timed control.
