Recommended loft insulation these days?

Brand? Thickness?

Old house. Hardly any in attic at present. Ta

Recommended thickness 270mm rock or glass wool equivalent.

Glass wool treated with Ecose cuts down on dust and irritation when handling.

B and Q currently seem to have decent prices for Knauf Eko Roll:


Don't block any ventilation at the eaves.

Before laying new insulation, it may be a good idea to clear out the existing and use an industrial vacuum to clean up what's underneath.

Wear appropriate PPE when cleaning old and laying new - FFP3 mask, gloves and coveralls are a very good idea!
