Which make of Water Softener would you recommend?

I'm looking to buy a water softener and have tried researching it but there doesn't seem to be one make that stands out. Which make would you recommend for a five bedroom house?

Also, are the ones from B&Q any good...they seem dear enough at £450

the fact i bought it from b N q is not the point. but @£700 you must think its marvelous

try google and different search terms to find one more suited to you, expensive doesnt always mean good (specially with q n b)
