which paint for air compressor

i recently picked up an air compressor with some accessories i.e. paint sprayer.
i'm looking to paint the fence panels in the garden, and not sure what paint i can use with the compressor.
will i be able to use any timbercare sort of paint, or will it need to be the sprayable alternatives which most of the companies such as cuprinol offer?

Most timber care paints should be fine..'ducksback' 'fence and shed paint' etc

Sterr clear of the solvent based ones though as cleaning the equipment out will be a pig.
