Hi

I am new to this site, and I would be grateful if someone can assist in my query.

I have to change my 20 year old panel radiators, for new ones. I have come across many different brand names but I am at a loss at which which one to choose. I need to buy 10 rads in all, anything from 600* 500 to 600*1800, and simple ordinary styles ( not designer type)

Plumbing shops and various plumbers I have asked to quote for seem to just stick with one brand, and say they are the best. For example, Biasi new concept, or Quinns, Heatline, or Stelgrad compact. I would like to get something which would be something (very) good value for money, have a decent length life, efficient, and good heat output. Am i asking for too much?
Can i anyone give me good recommendations as to what to get and/or what to avoid?

Thanks in advance
Dan

Try WIckes, B&Q, Screwfix. Look for deals eg currently at PumbCenter where you get a bunch for a fixed price..
Then try your local discount plumbers merchant...

Hi, we have just replaced our 40-year-old radiator with Purmo Compact. The BTU output per relative size of the competitor’s radiators is much greater. Their website www.purmo.com is excellent, your can determine the actual size of radiator you need for each room in the house and there come in various heights and lengths to suit. Would recommend Purmo!

U must be joking I have just priced a 600 x 1600 DP & they want £440.
That is more than double the price of the best of the rest.

I tend to use Vogel & noot rads as the quality is good and the price is right.
Had no problems as yet, i buy these from our local plumbers merchants but would tend to think that most trade places would be able to get them.

Many thanks for all your help. I think I am just spoilt for choice. Some the names you have all mentioned, i've never heard of. I just dont want to buy something where it might go wrong. The plumber merchants near to me stock the likes of biasi, ultraline, quinn, heatline. I guess i'll just go for the one which is the best value for money

Stogel+ scroot :?:  Sounds like one of "Rambling Sid Rumpo`s" ditties from "Round the Horne" FFS  edit Vogel+ poot
