Hi,

I am doing some repair work around the house.

1. In the bathroom, a few tiles need to be lifted and re-inserted again.
2. The internal windows, we have the aluminium windows with the wood frame. The sealant is worn out and I can feel a draft, especially at this time of the year,

I was going to buy this sealant for the bathroom

and this one for the windows,

Then I saw this on screwfix direct.

My question is the General purpose sealant from wickes, can I use this in the bathroom aswell? Or do I need a specific one for the bathroom??

I don't want to end up with two sealants, which will probably never get used again, I'd rather use one for all the jobs..

thanks..

ps. I am looking at a cost effective solution, my budget is quite tight.

I would go with the unibond if budget is tight, will do both jobs [though not over-paintable]

I recently had some good results refixing tiles with liberal amounts of superglue used with an activator, the advantage was the thin layer of adhesive for maintaining levels thats my 2 penorth

Thank you for your reply.

It never crossed my mind that its not paintable, its not issue in the bathroom, however around the windows, I would need to sand down the frame abit, seal the window and the paint over it.

I wonder if the wickes one is paintable. I'll need to go into wickes in the morning.

I doubt if any are paintable. You might be better off with a flexible decorator's caulk, paintable in about 2 hours.
