Which UV oil on cladding

Reposting here as no replies in the woodworking forum...

I'm looking to clad a garden wall without breaking the bank i.e. Red Cedar and composite is too expensive.

I'm looking at using pressure-treated PAO White Deal battens 75mm x 22mm nominally (horizontally fixed to vertical battens). The supplier says it's kiln-dried before the PT but that it's usually dried out after a few days in their yard (I'd have though it'd take longer to dry out).

I've two questions:
1. I want to use a tinted oil to colour it a dark walnut type colour. From my research I've seen Osmo UV Oil and Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus + Filter 7 Plus recommended but would be great to get any other suggestions or thoughts on using them for my project.
2. It'd be easier if I could apply the finish before mounting them but I know they need typically need to be under 20% moisture to properly take the oil. Would a water bead test suffice or a cheap moisture meter maybe (if the cheap ones are any good)? Or should I just let them weather for a couple of months to be sure and then apply the oil in-situ?

Phone the manufacturers technical department.
I'm a trade and that's what I do. Make sure you use the correct product and the application is correct..
Write down questions and see what they say.
