Looking to get some tinted UV protection oil for outdoor cedar cladding. I like the UV clear but I would like a slightly darker red tint to blend in with other timber on my house.
I looked at the light red tint from Osmo posted in another thread and it seems quite dark.

Just wondering if it would be possible to mix the UV clear with the tinted light red cedar to end up with a slightly less dark tint?
Has anyone done this or can advise if it would work?

A year ago since I did my Cedar cladding, and I made some samples using various Osmo UV colours, which have seen the sun 6+ hours a day most of the year.
May be handy for anyone trying to work out which to use. Clear UV still gets my vote. "Light" Cedar appears far from light! All Western Red Cedar.

My experience of using the UV (clear) "safe" Osmo was limited to oiling a temporary ash cross for a grave (which I had to carry and oil over Easter weekend...).

I did warn the customer that the spec says that it is only suitable for vertical surfaces. The cross only need to last a year.

As much as I like Osmo, I am not convinced that they have a clear UV oil which will stop cedar becoming grey further down the line. I hope I am wrong though.

Perhaps contact them. I have been happy with their customer support in the past.
