Hi.
Got a potterton flamingo, its making an intermittent ghost like wering noise when first turned on. It continues for some time at various volumes. It appears to be coming from above the burners and behind the iron box. As far as I know there are no moving parts. I have bled the system but it still occures. I turned the boiler on and off several times which stopped it but it started next time it fired up. Any ideas its driving me nuts.
Thanks.

flamingos are now v old . it could be a scaled/dirty heat exchanger
new boiler best bet

"Wining" is what I enjoy and involves inbibing wine!!!

Noises, as sometimes made by wives ( and boilers ), are "whining".

Very rarely a faulty gas burner can make a noise but its pretty unusual!

Thanks Agile re spelling, whining is what its doing!!!! Not saying its the burner I cant figure out what it is. Nothing has been touched on it and the flamingo is a basic boiler for things to go wrong. Water is quite hot also (possibly nothing to do with it though) any ideas?
Thanks. :?:
