Whirlpool ADG7550 Dishwasher hose before heater collapsing

My friends dishwasher fills and when then starts making a noise as if the pump is failing. A repairman told him the pump was bad after he "heard" it happening. I pulled it out and removed some panels and ran it through the cycle. After 5-10 minutes the noise started and I noticed that the hose from the water collector to the heater is collapsing in on itself. I assume something is not happening and causing the pump to create a vacuum and collapse the hose or the hose has become weak. Anyone have any ideas for me?
