Whirlpool ADG7560/1 Will Not Switch On

My Whirlpool ADG7560/1 dishwasher will not switch on using the on/off button on the top of the door. If I try it many times, occasionally it WILL switch on but then goes off again either as soon as the door is closed or else a few seconds later (all lights go out). If I get it to switch on I can select the different programs as normal but it always switches off again either on the first bump or a few seconds after closing the door.

Does it sound as though the off/on switch has failed or is there some other fault likely? If it might be the switch how do I open the door up to get access to it to replace? Thanks.

A good place to start would be to check the double pole on/off switch (power off before opening up). You would have to take off the control panel to get access by removing the 6 or so screws from the inside. You may also have to remove the fascia & inner door first depending on construction. As there are around 10 - 12 ADG7560/1 models it would pay to quote the unique service number should you need further info(85-- ---- ----).
