Whirlpool ADP2440WH re-wash problem

Could anyone help pls? My dishwasher light is illuminating the pre wash cycle (although it will move further round). there is a sound of the water but then stops then drains off. The start button is flashing (6 times) but nothing is happening.
i've checked to see if the water is running through the hose.. (yes)
also i've held in the start button for a few seconds but nothing

Could be a flowmeter problem or a water indicator problem.
Check under the filters, you'll see a black grid, carefully clean it out and try again.
If still failing, left hand panel off, disconnect the flowmeter (bottom front of the plastic water matrix) and plug it on again. Try again.
