new valves new combi old pipework why do rad valves whistle like a kettle? please

trust you have flushed the heating system bdog. this sometimes happens when you only have one or two rads on, and the rest off. try turning the lockshield down a bit with heating running, see if this makes any difference, good luck.
 
You can also turn the pump speed down from 3 to 1. this will reduce the velocity of water squirting through the narrow valves.

Have you got Thermostatic radiator valves? Can you see a direction arrow cast onto the valve bodies?

Have you got a room thermostat, and is it working?

Don't turn pump down to 1 on a combi keep on 3 the whistling is prob high flow rate trying to go through small gap in rad valves try opening them more to see if quietens down
