    Hi
I am looking to buy a terraced house (currently browsing the photos online). Just noticed there is a a very long white-ish vertical line from top to bottom on the external wall (crack?) between the house and the neighbour. Picture attached (where the arrow is). Could anyone tell me what this line is?

    thanks!

Looks like an intentionally built in expansion joint. Nothing to worry about.

It is, although nowadays they are called movement joints as they allow for expansion and contraction.
