Is there ant way to get rid of the white marks on the brickwork I have just had laid. And also is there any way to brighten up the blue bricks as they are a bit dull. Will painting the wall with weatherproofing make it any brighter.

White marks? Not if it's efflorescence. Dry brush only.

For the blues, a bit of diesel on a rag, but just a bit, don't soak them. Other light clear oil might do.

That might soften the bricks

Yeah it will work. They wont come up glossy, but the oil just clears any mortar stain and puts a bit of a sheen on them.

If they are badly stained from your bricklaying efforts, then you need some diluted brick acid
