We recently had an extension built, and the builder did a runner before we caught up with him over various shortcomings in his work. I am trying to get the work signed off by the BCO, who is happy with everything except there's no certification for the electrics. When I opened the envelope the builder had left on the top of the CU all it contained were adverts for second-hand transit vans!
The BCO has said they would be happy with a PIR
I have approached several electricians, and they said they are not permitted to certify work by others. I would agree if they were certifying the work, but that's not what we are asking them to do. we are asking for them for a PIR!
Some have made appointments, and then failed to turn up
In fact I've just been told the fifth appointment I made for this Monday cannot be met

The extension has it's own CU fed from a fused isolator, one ring with five double sockets, a total of seven 240V downlighters including one appropriate for a bathroom, One LV fan and transformer on a 3-pole isolator, three light switches and a fused spur for a patient hoist.
This has now been dragging on since April. I have a deadline of the year end from the BCO, otherwise I may lose the disabled facilities grant that is supposed to pay for all the work. What do I have to do to find an electrician who can do a PIR on this installation?
