Why can't I find these hinges?

My front door slams shut.

I'm trying to find some hinges to put on it so that when the door is let go, when it gets close to closing, the hinges 'kick in' and it closes very slowly the last few inches.

I've tried Googling but I keep just finding the sort of small soft close hinges for kitchen cabinet doors.

I'm sure these hinges for big doors exist as they were on the communal front door to my last flat. But I've called a door specialist who couldn't understand what I wanted and didn't seem to understand.

I've seen what I think I need in America http://pillowhinge.com/ but I can't find it here.

can anyone help? x

Never come across them to be honest.
You may consider using a door closer , hydraulic overhead type , not the prettist of things but it would (may?) solve your problem.
Why does the door keep slamming? Ours only slams if the back door is wide open allowing a through draught.

The overhead closers look crap. I wanna soft close hinge! :D

anyone?

Or
e-mail the American companyand ask if they send to the UK or have an outlet here.
