Why is a small amount of warm water going to the radiator...

I have a combi boiler with the heating off but when I run some direct hot water a little hot water sometimes goes through to the first radiator (on the ground floor - directly below the boiler on the first floor) and leaves it a little warm at the top. Any ideas why? Cheers!

You dont bother to tell us what boiler model you have.

In general that would indicate a failing/sticky diverter valve.

Doesn't really matter - it is a combi, so at best it is a heat dump/pump over run. Most likely is a diverter valve issue like you said.

A few other options are dead PCB or temperature sensor. But I will stick with DV.
