Why so cheap?

I just bought some of the grey poly plumb pipe (15mm) from the big orange shop. It cost £3.48 for 3m which was quite a bit cheaper than the white stuff that they sell.

Why is it so much cheaper and will it be OK for putting my new radiator in? I couldn't find any staff to ask if it was OK for central heating sysems.

Its possibly for hot/cold water, and not barrier pipe that should be used on heating system.

are we talking about the same stuff? yellow packaging that says 50 year guarantee?

I've looked it up and it is OK to use on central heating. I just wondered what the danger was with using the cheap stuff. Presumably it won't last as long?
