Hi,
I'm having a (nearly) full width conservatory built in a few weeks on the back of the house and then an extension on the side of the house next year. The back wall of the extension will be in line with the back wall of the house.
Because of this work I have to have the gas meter moved so that the service pipe is not inside the conservatory.
I want to have the new meter installed in a semi concealed meter box (that sits in the ground) so that it will overlap from the existing back house wall and to the new extesion wall (it cant sit entirely on the house wall because of the size of the conservatory and the location of the soil stack)
My concern is that I will get it installed somewhere that will interfere with the building work when I get the extension built. If the back wall of the extension will run in line with the current house back wall how much wider than the width of the proposed extension back wall will the footings be when they are dug by th ebuilders. A better way of asking that would be how far away from the proposed extension wall should I get the gas box installed. I don't really want to move it again when I get the extension done.
Thanks,
Matt.
